A trio of young Warriors players led the Santa Cruz Warriors to a 122-111 win over the Oklahoma City Blue Sunday afternoon at Kaiser Permanente Arena.
James Wiseman tallied 24 points and 16 rebounds on assignment from the NBA’s Warriors, while Ryan Rollins led Santa Cruz with 26 points, adding nine rebounds and seven assists. First-round pick Patrick Baldwin added 25 points on 9-of-12 shooting (6-of-9 from 3).
All five Santa Cruz starters scored in double digits as Lester Quinones, Wiseman’s college teammate at Memphis, added 20 points and Jerome Robinson scored 16.
Wiseman shot 11-of-13 on the afternoon. D.J. Wilson led the Blue with 22 points.
The win followed Friday night’s 110-100 victory over the South Bay Lakers, when Wiseman had another double-double with 24 points and 10 rebounds on 9-of-10 shooting. Rollins notched a triple-double with 22 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists.
Santa Cruz trailed by 10 points in the third quarter of that game but won the fourth quarter 30-14 to take home the victory.
All three players were called up to the NBA team last week for a trip to Utah as stars Steph Curry, Draymond Green and Andrew Wiggins sat out while nursing injuries. Only Wiseman saw action in the game, playing five minutes and scoring three points in the Warriors’ last-second loss. His plus-minus figure, a key area for improvement after a rocky start at the NBA level this season, was +3.
Wiseman now has five straight double-doubles at the G League level and Santa Cruz is riding a four-game win streak into Wednesday’s game at South Bay.
