Stanford is continuing to be challenged in the rough-and-tumble Pac-12, but save for one time, it’s looking strong in the face of those obstacles.
The Cardinal swept the weekend against the Oregon schools, with Cameron Brink’s triple-double — 16 points, 12 rebounds and a program-record 10 blocks — leading the way on Sunday to a win over Oregon.
The tight win over Oregon State on Friday was enough for me to keep the Cardinal at No. 3, even as previously No. 2 Ohio State lost not once, not twice, but three times in one week.
LSU leapfrogs to No. 2 thanks in part to previously crushing the same Oregon State team Stanford struggled with. But the 20-0 Tigers will have arguably their toughest test of the season when Tennessee comes to Baton Rouge on Monday night.
Elsewhere, a week filled with top-25 matchups caused a whole lot of shakeups and movement. Here’s where everyone ended up:
1. South Carolina
9. Notre Dame
10. Ohio State
11. North Carolina
13. Iowa State
14. Virginia Tech
16. Middle Tennessee
18. NC State
20. South Florida
