RICHMOND — A man walking on city streets was followed by a person driving a vehicle, then shot to death Thursday night, police said.
Richmond police did not release many details about the homicide, the 12th one they’ve investigated this year. The victim was in his 20s. Authorities did not identify him.
Police spokesman Lt. Matt Stonebraker said the man was walking on West Cutting Boulevard, when a person in a vehicle began to follow him. The man eventually turned onto S. 49th Street, and the vehicle followed.
“We don’t have any description of the vehicle,” Sonebraker said.
The driver of the vehicle and the man walking eventually exchanged words, he said. Moments later, shots were fired.
The man was hit more than one time, Stonebraker said. He died at the scene.
Police were looking for information and urged anyone who has any to contact the department at 510-233-1214.
