OAKLAND — A 24-year-old man was shot Thursday night in East Oakland, authorities said.
The man was initially listed in critical condition at a hospital but was later upgraded to stable, authorities said.
The shooting happened about 8:17 p.m. Thursday in the 1000 block of East 17th Street, a primarily residential area.
The man was shot after getting into a verbal and physical dispute with another man he may know, police said.
The suspect fled in a vehicle before police got to the scene.
What the dispute was about is under investigation. No arrests have been made.
