It comes after Britains Got Talent viewers received quite the surprise as children’s TV stars The Teletubbies auditioned for the show in May.

And it was a reunion for judge Simon Cowell, who gave the performers a record deal back in 1997.

Returning to screens for their 25th anniversary, the four performer danced to hits from Beyoncé, ABBA and One Direction.

The recognisable act caught the judges’ attention straight away, with Amanda Holden squealing and standing up as they came onto stage, while Alesha Dixon danced along, with David Walliams looked taken aback.

‘I can’t believe they’re auditioning for Britain’s Got Talent,’ quipped a giddy Dec Donnelly, as Ant McPartlin giggled beside him and added ‘what is going on?’

Welcoming them to the show, Amanda said: ‘I don’t think we need to ask who you are, but who are you?’, before the quartet introduced themselves.

Before busting a move, The Teletubbies played a voice over, revealing that Simon had helped them release their Say Eh-Oh! hit in 1997, which went to no.1 in the charts.

As Simon attempted to conceal his smile, the music mogul admitted: ‘Yes, I was their record label’, letting out a laugh.

And it didn’t take long for them to familiarise themselves again, as the judge ended up on stage with the act – even giving them a hug as he sported an interesting new headband from the performers.

Simon was locked in between the four performers as they wrapped around him on the stage, which had been covered in rainbow confetti during the performance.

And it certainly went down a hit, with four yesses and a standing ovation from the judges securing The Teletubbies place in the next round.
